What's Happening This Weekend? 8/23-8/25
It's looking like a great weekend to get outside. According to my weather app Friday and Saturday will be high 70s to low 80s. Even Sunday looks like a high of 91 (as of the time of writing this). I don't want to speak too soon but it looks like we may be over the dog days of summer. 🤞 Either way you should take advantage of this weekends weather and get outside.
Chico Saturday Farmer's Market
Saturday morning will be the perfect day to get downtown and enjoy the Chico Saturday Farmers' Market. This market is the best one to get your locally grown fruits, vegetables and even fresh meat. As well as baked goods, flowers and other locally sourced goods. Saturday mornings' market is year round, rain or shine. But no need to worry about that this weekend. Should great weather to het out and enjoy the market Saturday morning.
Go On A Walk In The Park
If you still have energy after the Farmers' Market, head out to one of the local parks and go on a walk. Chico has many beautiful trails to enjoy. And this weekend they're sure to be packed with other enjoying the outdoors. If you'd like to take a light walk, head over to the 5 Mile Recreational Area. This is a low key light terrain area to walk around and enjoy nature. There's a water running through the area to enjoy, picnic areas and many trails to walk.
If you're looking for something a little more challenging. Try heading over to Horseshoe Lake. Once you get there you can head up the trail to Monkeyface. There's a few different trails leading up to the Monkeyface rock formation. Some more difficult than others to hike. Or just head straight up the middle for the most challenging path to the top. But once you get to the top you won't be disappointed. It's a beautiful view looking out. If you've never been, I challenge you to get out to Horseshoe Lake this weekend and enjoy nature!
Catch Some Live Music
Get out and support a local business and a local band at the same time by catching a live show. Sunday, Secret Trail Brewing Co. will be hosting live music featuring Samaria Trio. This brewing company was founded here in Chico Ca, they have 20 different types of beer on tap and know how to host an event. Live music will be from 3pm-5pm. Also, The Black Kettle will be there serving up food as well. So make a fun early evening of live music, food and drinks to wind down your weekend at the Secret Trail Brewing Co. on Sunday.
