Winco store closing due to Bomb threat

CHICO, Calif. – Early this morning, Chico Police launched an investigation following the discovery of a bomb threat scrawled on a wall at WinCo Foods. The unsettling message was found around 4 a.m. by a WinCo employee, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.

Upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough search of the premises. While police are treating the threat with the utmost seriousness, they have stated that there is no immediate danger to the public. However, they remain vigilant and will continue to investigate the situation closely.

In light of the incident, the Chico Police Department has increased patrols around the store. They also addressed the situation on social media, noting that while public concern is understandable, the influx of calls to the dispatch center regarding the threat seen online is hindering their ability to respond to other emergencies. They urge the community to refrain from calling the dispatch center based on information circulating on social media.

The police have assured the public that if any credible threat emerges, they will issue warnings through the media and the Code Red alert system.

As a precautionary measure, WinCo’s management has decided to adjust the store's operating hours, closing at 11 p.m. and reopening at 7 a.m. on Friday. While the store typically operates 24/7, the manager did not confirm if the change in hours is directly related to the threat.

Monstros Pizza

Monstros Pizza

As long as I can remember i have loved pizza. When I was a kid it didn't matter where it was from. Little Caesars, Dominos, just didn't matter. But as I got older i discovered quality pizza. Chico has no shortage of great pizza places to get a slice from. But Monstros is like no other. They keep irregular hours, so follow their Facebook page to fine out when they're open. They only take orders by phone and only accept cash. It almost fell like you're making a drug deal when you're buying a pizza. lol. But once you get past the corkiness of this business and get your pizza home to eat. You won't be disappointed. Monstros Pizza is delicious and incredibly filling. You probably won't be able to get down more than one slice, two tops. So if you haven't tried Monstros make sure to put it on your short list.
